Perusing “How to Steal A Truck Full of Nickels” by Jeffrey A. Cooper

Book Reviews

Slightly reminiscent of an 80’s madcap comedy, “How to Steal a Truck Full of Nickels” does not take itself too seriously. It manages to succinctly and cleverly maintain a quick pace and fun tone, all the while injecting grandiose situations throw every which way at our titular characters, and brothers, Rico and Reuben.

Rico and Reuben complement each other in every which way. Rico is the safe, conscientious one, while Reuben, who is also the narrator, is more impulsive and willing to take chances. Reunited after being apart for many years, the two brothers quickly resume their easy relationship. This rekindling, however, become quickly fraught with money laundering and theft, zany characters, and a quick sense of action amongst all the characters involved.

Pleasant and funny, “How to Steal a Truck Full of Nickels” is a romp that I easily devoured with a smile on my face and a chuckle in my throat.
