Andie MacDowell is ABC’s Model Woman.
The Cedar Cove actress is set as the female lead in the network’s circa-’70s modeling agency drama pilot, TVLine has learned.

The project, inspired by Robert Lacey’s book Model Woman: Eileen Ford And The Business Of Beauty, centers on MacDowell’s Bertie Geiss, the owner of The Geiss Agency, which has enjoyed a complete monopoly over the modeling world for the last 20 years. Bertie run a tight ship, treats her models like family and is at the top of their game. However, it’s 1977 and the world is changing. It’s becoming increasingly difficult to exercise control over the young models. When a rival agency opens and steals some top talent, the stakes get higher and Bertie declares war.
